The Eastside Stars had a very busy week competing in 3 games in 4 days.

On Wednesday, 11/29, the Stars traveled to Jackson to face Jackson United in a non-league game.  The Stars were victorious by a score of 3-1.  On the scoresheet for the Stars were Nolan Trainor (Holt) with a goal assisted by Hayden Stone (Okemos), Brett Monaghan (ER) earning his 1st high school goal assisted by Jack Monaghan (ER) and Nolan Trainor, and rounding out the scoring was Jonny Stohr (ER) with a goal assisted by Jack Monaghan and Kyle Raynor (Holt).  Reed Drouare (EL) earned the victory in net with 17 saves on 18 shots.

On Friday, 12/1, the Stars opened league play at home by hosting the Portage Muskies.  The game was a fast-paced, hard-fought battle, but the Stars eventually fell to the Muskies by a score of 4-3 in the overtime period.  Leading the way for the Stars was Jack Monaghan with a "playmaker" (3 assists) on goals by Kyle Raynor, Evan Warner (Haslett) and Evan McCreary (Okemos).  Charlie Winslow (Okemos) also added an assist to round out the scoring.  Reed Drouare had 17 saves for the Stars between the pipes.

Capping off the action-packed week, on Saturday, 12/2, the Stars traveled to Jackson for another league game against the Titans from Jackson Lumen Christi in the annual Stick it to Cancer fundraising event.  Although the Stars battled hard, they fell to the Titans by a score of 3-1.  Michael Grant (Okemos) scored his 1st goal of the season and was assisted by Dante Munger (Okemos) and Jack Drouare (EL).  Reed Drouare made 29 saves in the loss.

This week, Eastside hosts Mattawan in a league game at home on Friday, 12/8 - 8pm at the East Lansing Ice Cube.  All are welcome and encouraged to come on out and show their support for the Stars as they face another tough opponent in league play.
