In front of a capacity crowd, the ER Varsity Football team broke the losing streak with a hard-fought 14-8 victory over the Vikings of Lake Odessa-Lakewood!  The scoring started for the Greyhounds when Sophomore Hayden Hendrickson scored on a 2-yard run.  Hendrickson finished the night running the ball with 66 yds on 10 attempts and had 3 receptions for 36 yds.  Quarterback Keegan Gochenour punched in the 2-point conversion to make it 8-0.  Gochenour expanded the lead on an 8-yard QB keeper to make it 14-0.  On the night Gochenour was 14-17 for 117 yds throwing the ball.  Other Greyhounds leading the offense were Maximus Hutchinson running the ball 8 times for 31 yds and catching 2 passes for 21 yds.  Marvin Deh had 4 catches for 36 yards and Jackson White contributed 2 receptions for 26 yds.

The defense played tough allowing only one touchdown and two-point conversion on the night.  Leading the defense, was senior Ashton Collins with 3 tackles, 3 sacks, and 4 tackles for loss.  Senior Marvin Deh contributed 5 tackles and 1 sack.  Dom Monroe added 3 tackles,  5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks.  Keegan Gochenour, Ethan Gaston, and Hayden Hendrickson each had 3 tackles in the victory.

The Varsity Football team goes on the road next week with a matchup against the Cougars from Lansing Catholic.  Game time is 7 pm.  Go HOUNDS!
