Varsity Baseball Split with Charlotte 2-0 and 1-2 Tuesday night behind some stellar pitching performances. In the first game, Junior Matt Wright threw a complete game 3-hitter. The Junior kept the Orioles off balance all night and got some terrific defense behind him. Senior Jonny Stohr had the hot bat going 2 for 3 on the night with 1 RBI. Braylon Nobach and Ayden Glassbrook each contributed hits in the victory.
In the second game, Freshman Joe Zubal got the start and went 5 1/3 innings giving up 3 hits and no earned runs. Zubal also scored the tying run on a base hit by fellow freshman Parker Nelson. Braylon Nobach, Jonny Stohr, Jude Kennedy, and Joe Zubal all had hits for the Greyhounds. The game went into extra innings when the Orioles were able to plate the winning run in the bottom of the 8th.
The Hounds finish up their regular season today at Lansing Christian. Game time 4 pm.
