Mixed results for ERHS Girls Soccer.  The cold, wet evening started with a tough loss for the ER JV girls to Fowlerville, 1-6.  The JV goal scorer was Mara Elorza.  After a difficult first half, the girls stayed strong and played a much stronger second.  These were valuable minutes for a group of girls that includes lots of freshman and a few first time soccer players.

The varsity girls came out hot and kept the pressure on for all 80 minutes.  The scoring started with a PK goal by Kennedie Crow and followed quickly with a corner kick goal by Hannah Garity.  Scoring continued with a Madison Norton upper 90 goal from a free kick in the second half.  The lone assist was a feed from Amanda Zeller on Kennedie Crow’s second goal.  The final goal of the night was another PK scored by Kylie Alvarez.  Amirra Tello, in her first career game as a high school soccer player, got a shutout.  ER owned the midfield, winning most of the 50/50 balls, and the defense was absolutely suffocating.  Great overall team effort and a solid start to the season.

Both teams play again on Thursday at Parma Western.  Go Hounds!
