The Eaton Rapids High School Athletic Hall of Fame committee is now accepting nominations for this fall's Hall of Fame celebration taking place on September 6th, 2024. Please nominate an outstanding athlete, coach, or community contributor to Eaton Rapids Athletics. Please nominate using this link. The requirements for selection are the following:
NOMINATION CRITERIA:
Student-Athletes: For consideration into the Hall of Fame, the former student-athlete must meet the following criteria while participating on Eaton Rapids High School MHSAA sponsored teams:
TEAM SPORT (Baseball, Basketball, Competitive Cheer [MHSAA], Football, soccer, softball, volleyball):
Individual Honors – 1st Team All-State from Coaches association of that particular sport, Detroit Free Press, Detroit News
INDIVIDUAL SPORT (Cross Country, Golf, Swimming, Tennis, Track and Field, Wrestling):
• Swimming, Tennis, Track and Field, Wrestling- 1st or 2nd place in MHSAA State Final Competition
• Cross Country – 1- 10th place at State Final Competition
• Golf – 1-10th Place at State Final Competition
Teams: For consideration into the Hall of Fame, the former Eaton Rapids High School team must meet the following criteria:
Win a State Championship or be State Runner-up in an MHSAA sport
Post High School Special Recognition: For consideration into the Hall of Fame, the Eaton Rapids High School graduate must meet the following criteria:
1) Named All-American in NCAA Division 1,2,3, NAIA, or Community College
2) Qualify for the Olympic Competition
High School Coach: For consideration into the Hall of Fame, the coach must meet the following criteria while coaching at Eaton Rapids High School:
• State Championship/Runner-up
• 6 Conference, 6 District, or 2 Regional Championships in combination of sports
or
• a combination of 10 championships
Special Recognition as an athlete, team, coach or individual: A person associated with Eaton Rapids Schools (graduate, coach, staff) may be chosen for special recognition for outstanding contributions to high school athletics in a decision made by two-thirds ballot of the Hall of Fame Committee
NOTES:
• All inductees will have criteria associated with an MHSAA-sponsored sport.
• All athletes must be graduated from Eaton Rapids for 5 years before they can be nominated.
• Moral conduct will be used as criteria for all nominees. All nominees must be role models when they are
students and also as a citizens since graduation.
• All nominations have to be voted in by the Hall of Fame Committee and then recommended to the Board
of Education for final approval.
